Beforeifly Travel Centre Launch & Grand Opening in Hamilton

By | Destinations | No Comments

It all started with a passion for travel.  George, one of the founders of beforeifly literally grew up in the business. Every Saturday, he would find himself happily helping out his dad, who owned an award-winning travel agency at the time. George would eagerly stamp tickets and handle paperwork as needed. As a young boy, he was enthralled by the customer experience.

It was only natural for George to start his own travel business with a modern twist. Many of his dad’s former clients, have since become George’s clients.

Teaming up with two other partners, George created Beforeifly to fill a need for travel enthusiasts who are looking for the best deals, pertinent information about travel destinations such as rules and regulations, as well as exceptional customer service (available all in one place).

In addition to becoming a leading travel booking platform, Beforeifly is so excited to launch its first travel centre in Hamilton. Why Hamilton? Hamilton is an amazing city and is often called Waterfall capital of the world. It is home to a new airport and has seen an overwhelming growth in recent years.

The Beforeifly Travel Centre is a welcoming place where you can meet with our travel experts to book your next adventure. You’ll be greeted as you walk in, you can enjoy a tea or coffee on us, browse through our many travel catalogues and choose the destination that’s best for you.

Las Vegas- Family Friendly?!

By | Destinations | No Comments

It was 1996 and my parents decided it was finally time to take that family vacation that my sisters and I dreamed of…..HOLLYWOOD!

So, when they told us of the plans to fly into San Francisco and rent a car to drive down the PCH with stops along the way (including Hollywood & Beverly Hills!) we were SO excited! Then they threw in the fact that we would fly home from Vegas. Wait, what?! What were we, as teenagers, not of legal gambling age going to do in Las Vegas?

In the city that never sleeps, gambling is only one of the thousands of things that makes this a must destination, at any age.

From shopping in the unique boutiques, to the arcades where my sisters and I won enough tickets to bring home a karaoke machine. Every morning we would lay by the pool, take the trolley down the strip to see the free shows at Treasure Island, and then head to the aquarium before heading to the Bellagio to watch the nightly fountain display.

The 4 days that my parents spent hitting the slots and buffets, my sisters and I enjoyed the entertainment, and amazing theme park-like hotels and resorts that the city had to offer.

Fast forward 10 years later, and a tip with my husband and our best friends, the city still had that “adventurous air” about it. We rented a convertible and headed to the Grand Canyon, and this time, actually got to pull the handle on the slots! Although so much had changed, it still all seemed so familiar, as the aquarium, Treasure Island and Bellagio fountains, all became favoutrites for my husband and friends.

So, next time you envision a family vacation full of action, entertainment, and even relaxation; don’t count Vegas out!

Las Vegas

Las Vegas, USA

Average temperature: 21°C

Its Spanish name means ‘the meadows. From its beginnings as a cowboy town, through its rat-pack mobster phase to its current “Big Time” delivery. It’s also a good pick for a March holiday destination, as temperatures hovering around 20°C are pleasant and not quite as desert-like as other times of year.

You don’t have to be a gambler! Las Vegas bills itself more as an entertainment centre. The Wynn, for example, offers free mojitos and tequila. True to its name, The City That Never Sleeps, with museums, shows, and casinos that run all hours of the day- You will certainly need to catch up on those zzz’s on the flight home!

The most eye-catching attraction at the Bellagio, a supersize, all-American Italian villa, is the signature dancing fountains. The geysers—more than 1,200 in all—are nestled in the eight-and-a-half acre lake in front of Bellagio on the Strip. They erupt every half-hour beginning at 3pm and every 15 minutes from 8pm until midnight. A must see when in Vegas!

Many of the more preposterously themed hotels in Vegas pay homage to notable locales around the world that would seem tacky anywhere else than here. You want Paris and the Eiffel Tower? Try Paris Las Vegas. Venice? There are gondolas and a St. Mark’s Square at the Venetian. Bellagio has a replica of Italy’s Lake Como. The Big Apple? New York New York has the Statue of Liberty!

Cirque du Soleil shows and dozens of other options around the area, hitting up one of the city’s production shows is one of the most popular activities for Vegas visitors. There are plenty of excellent choices, including Blue Man Group’s rhythmic take on alienation at the Luxor, or Penn & Teller’s magic secrets revealed at Rio. Or catch the smash-hit Four Seasons musical, Jersey Boys—one of the city’s most enduring Broadway shows—at Paris Las Vegas.
